"The Nick Saban Show"
will move to CBS 42 when the Alabama football season kicks off this fall, the station announced Tuesday.
Also on Tuesday, the SEC announced that Alabama's Aug. 30 season opener with Clemson at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta has been picked up by ABC for a 7 p.m. broadcast.
Some parts of the country will see the Michigan State-California game that night on ABC.
Saban's show previously aired in Birmingham on NBC 13, but the start of last year's show varied depending on the length of NBC's Sunday prime-time NFL game.
At CBS 42, Saban's show will air at 10:35 p.m. on Sundays following the station's 10 o'clock newscast.
CBS 42 has also picked up "The Mark Gottfried Show"
and "Crimson Tide This Week."
Those shows previously aired on CW 21.
"We're bringing them all under one roof,"
Bill Ballard, CBS 42 president and general manager, said Tuesday. "I think the people at Crimson Tide Sports Marketing feel this is the best fit for their shows."
CBS 42 signed a three-year agreement with Crimson Tide Sports Marketing, which owns the rights to the Alabama shows. That contract runs through June 2011.
Like Saban's show, Gottfried's show will air Sundays at 10:35 p.m. once the Alabama football season has ended. "Crimson Tide This Week"
will air on Saturdays at 11 a.m., beginning Aug 21.
Saban taped last year's show from the stadium following the game, and that format likely won't change, Ballard said.
One of CBS 42's three sportscasters - either Herb Winches, Brad Radice or Scott Griffin - will host the show, but which one has not been decided, Ballard added.
The Alabama-Clemson game is one four SEC out-of-conference games picked by ABC, according to the conference's updated TV schedule.
The other games are Ole Miss at Wake Forest on Sept. 6, Arkansas at Texas on Sept. 13 and Georgia at Arizona State on Sept. 20.
