Former player Pat Tillman and coach Bruce Snyder headline the 2008 class of the Arizona State Hall of Fame, the school said Wednesday.
Six others will also be inducted into the Bill and Judy Schaefer Athletic Hall of Fame, according to Athletic Director Lisa Love.
All eight inductees will be honored at the football game on Oct. 25 vs. Pac-10 foe Oregon at Sun Devil Stadium.
In addition to Tillman and Snyder, the 2008 class includes: Eric Allen (football), Jacinta Bartholomew (track and field), Brandie Burton (golf), Lisa Dacquisto (softball), Markus Mollica (wrestling) and Jeremy Veal (basketball).
Tillman played football at ASU from 1994-97. As a junior, Tillman started every game as the Sun Devils went unbeaten through the regular season, won the Pac-10 championship and made its second appearance in the Rose Bowl. The following year, Tillman was named Pac-10 defensive player of the year as he helped lead the Sun Devils to a 9-3 season.
Snyder was head football coach for nine years from 1992-2000 and is the second-longest tenured head coach in school history. Snyder posted a 58-47 (.563) record during his time at ASU and led the Sun Devils to four bowl games. His best season came in 1996, when he coached ASU to an undefeated regular season.
