Stanford Adds Todd Husak to Football Broadcast Team

Stanford Athletics and Learfield Sports announced today former Stanford quarterback Todd Husak has been added to the football broadcast team as a color analyst for the 2008 season. He will join play-by-play announcer Dave Flemming on all 12 regular season broadcasts on AM 860 KTRB.

Husak, who gained broadcast experience last year as a color analyst for Fox Sports, enjoyed a stellar career at Stanford from 1996-99. A two-year starter, he ranks as the school's fifth all-time leading passer with 6,564 yards and also ranks in the Top 10 in career touchdown passes (5th-41) and total offense (5th-6,428). As a senior in 1999, he earned first team All-Pac-10 Conference honors after completing 176-of-308 passes for 2,688 yards and 18 touchdowns, helping Stanford to the Pac-10 title and a Rose Bowl appearance. In his first year as a full-time starter in 1998, Husak completed 233-of-447 passes for 3,092 yards and 17 touchdowns. The passing yardage ranks third on Stanford's all-time single-season list. Husak set Stanford's single-game passing record against Oregon State in 1998 when he completed 26-of-48 passes for a school-record 450 yards.

A sixth round draft pick of the Washington Redskins in 2000, he played five seasons in the NFL with the Redskins (2000), Denver Broncos (2001), New York Jets (2002-03) and Cleveland Browns (2004) before retiring.

"I am thrilled to be involved with the Stanford football program again," said Husak. "Hopefully my experience as a player and an alum will help me provide colorful and insightful analysis."

AM 860 KTRB is one of the oldest radio stations on the West Coast. After serving Modesto and the surrounding area for 73 years, on February 1, 2007, KTRB signed on the air licensed to the city and county of San Francisco. KTRB is bringing more voices and more choices to the San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose talk radio audience with a line-up of hosts who bring a fresh and independent perspective to current affairs, featuring the independent voices of Glenn Beck, Neal Boortz, and Jerry Doyle, the hard hitting commentary of Laura Ingraham, the satire and comedy of Phil Hendrie, and quality weekend talk programs that reflect the diverse interests of talk radio listeners.

Stanford opens the 2008 regular season on August 28 against Oregon State at Stanford Stadium. Other home dates are scheduled against San Jose State (Sept. 20), Arizona (Oct. 11--Homecoming), Washington State (Nov. 1) and USC (Nov. 15) with road contests slated for Arizona State (Sept. 6), Texas Christian (Sept. 13), Washington (Sept. 27), Notre Dame (Oct. 4), UCLA (Oct. 18), Oregon (Nov. 8) and California (Nov. 22).
